Scottish Home Awards 2008
The best of Scotland’s housebuilding industry celebrated on 10th April at the annual Scottish Home Awards, sponsored by the Dunfermline Building Society and hosted by celebrity property gurus Colin McAllister and Justin Ryan.
Country Lifestyle Homes won the Conversion of the Year 2008 for our development at Illieston Castle Steadings in front of a packed audience of 550 industry representatives at the EICC in Edinburgh.
The Scottish Home Awards is the housebuilding industry’s independent awards programme which was established to promote excellence in Scottish house building. Ninety one award entries in the various categories were debated over by an influential expert judging panel of fifteen people including Dan Macdonald of Macdonald Estates, Bill Thomson of Kenmore Property Group and Allan Lundmark of Homes for Scotland. The panel was chaired by Margaret Curran MSP.
The Conversion of the Year award was sponsored by The Scotsman Publications and Steven Turnbull managing director of Country Lifestyle Homes was presented with the award by Kirsty McLuckie property editor of The Scotsman and a member of the judging panel.
Conversion Of The Year 2008
Hardie Associates, in conjunction with Country Lifestyle Homes, have been awarded the 'Conversion Of The Year' Award at the 2008 Scottish Home Awrds, for the development at illieston Castle Steadings, by Broxburn. The 150 year old farm steading was stylishly converted into 11 houses, preserving the history and character of the stone buildings, whilst providing luxurious and stylish, modern interiors.
Colin McAllister remarked “The judges applauded the huge amount of effort that had been involved in this development with careful considered attention to conservation techniques and retained features.”
Justin Ryan added “Congratulations to Country Lifestyle Homes, a tremendous achievement for what was their first ever development.”
Peter Weanie, Director of Dunfermline Building Society said: “The house building industry has enthusiastically embraced the Scottish Home Awards. Rightly so, this is an excellent showcase, celebrating the quality and innovation within the Scottish housebuilding sector."
